Summer

Fun filled days & nights

June, July and August are fabulous in Gold Beach. Our average summer temperature is in the 70’s which is a great escape from summertime heat in other locations. Outdoor activities are in full swing during summer — you can do just about anything: hiking, biking, golfing, river rafting, beachcombing, jet boating, fishing, horseback riding and hardly break a sweat. That’s just one of the great things about Gold Beach — mild in the winter and cool in the summer.

Summer brings to the coast the awesome wind that international wind surfers crave. The Pistol River Wave Bash occurs annually in June. The Wave Bash is part of the American Windsurfing Tour and attracts professional and amateur surfers alike:

Other great places to visit within a short drive are the Cape Blanco Lighthouse, the furthest point west in the continental United States, and the mighty Redwoods of Northern California. Base yourself in Gold Beach and they are just a 40-minute drive north or south. If the river is your thing, a 40-minute drive along the Rogue River will take you to the sleepy community of Agness. Stop and have lunch at Cougar Lane, Singing Springs or Lucas Lodge or the awesome Old Agness Store.

Please check our Event Calendar to find other great summer activities in Gold Beach.
