March, April, and May are great months to visit Gold Beach. The weather is mild and the new growth of spring brings with it a rainbow of different shades of green: from the beach grass next to the ocean to the ferns in the rain forest; from the Myrtle trees growing along the river to the dark evergreen of the Douglas Firs in the national forest. Even the Pacific Ocean has shades of emerald green.
